Tunisian Kofte in tomato sauce

Kofte in Arab world is meatballs everywhere else, so this recipe is meatballs in tomato sauce. Every country and region has his own way to prepare meatballs, some region use only lamb meat but some use only beef meat and the condiments variousity are endless. Serve with rice, macaroni or noodles.



Ingredients:
400 gr ground beef meat
4 cloves smashed garlic
1 medium onion finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon cumin or caraway seeds
half teaspoon ground black pepper
parsley
1 egg
200 gr tomato pasta mixed with 200 ml water


1. Mix the meat,2 smashed garlic, cumin seeds, salt and parsley. Make little balls and fry them very briefly in oil, then drain on paper towels.

2 Add the onion in the oil in what the you fried the meatballs and fry them until soft.Add the 2 smashed garlic and pour the tomato sauce on the onion and bring to a boil.

3. Add the meatballs in the tomato sauce, cover the pan with a lid and cook it on medium heat for 20 minutes stirring a few times.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
