Beetroot salad

Beetroot salad is one of the traditional salad in East Europe. Since early autumn women start to prepare it for winter, they have a special recipe for this and they store in jars. Also this salad people use to eaten at Easter, but they add grated horseradish to the salad.

Ingredients:

4 medium beetroot
half teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon vinegar


1. Peel the beetroot, pour water in a cooking pot and place the beetroot in it,cook it until beetroot cooked (until you can insert a fork in the beetroot).

2. Grate the beetroot, sprinkle with salt, sugar and cumin ,pour the vinegar on it. If you want to use grated horseradish now you can add that to and mix it well.
