Hungarian sweet cacao swirl bread
It can be served with jam, butter or Nuttela near a coffee, tea or hot milk. Have a lot of variety this sweet bread, some bake with nuts,raisins, poppy seeds, chocolate custard or vanilla filling,but one thing is sure, that every house have his special recipe for this sweet bread.
5. Preheat the oven to 180 C.
6. Brush the egg yolk on the top of bread and place it in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
7. When the bread is ready baked, while is still hot brush the top with milk or water.
It can be found in every Hungarian or East European household when Holidays are coming.
Ingredients:
300 gr flour
13 gr fresh yeast
80 gr sugar
100 ml warm (not hot)milk
100 ml plain yogurt
30 gr melted butter
1 egg white + 1 yolk to brush the top
1 bio lemon peel
2 pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
3 tablespoon cacao powder
1. In a mug place the yeast with one teaspoon sugar, pour half of the milk quantity, let it to stand 10 minutes.
2. In a large bowl mix the flour, sugar and salt. Add the yeast and mix it, add the white egg and pour the butter into the bowl.
3.Transfer to table and start to knee for 5-10 minutes, until is ready. When you can see little bubbles on it and your dough can be easily removed from your hand, it is ready. Cut the dollop in to and add to one the cacao with the water, knead it well until combine. Place them in a large bowl,put a kitchen foil between the 2 dollop, sprinkle them with flour, cover the dollops with a dish-towel and let it to stand in a warm, but not hot place for 1 hour.
4. Now, roll both of the dollops out to same size. Place the cacao dollop on the white dollop and roll the two layers together. Place the rolled up dough into the greased tube pan. Let the dough rise in a warm place 30 minutes.
