Arabic kofte or meatballs in tomato sauce (paleo)
Kofte in Arab World are meatballs and who don`t like meatballs? I believe that everybody, OK the vegetarians not, but they don`t even know what they loose with this delicious recipe.
1/2 kg minced veal
2 medium finely chopped and grated onion
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tbsp salt
150 ml tomato sauce
2 big red peeled and chopped tomato
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp honey
3 cloves smashed garlic
1 tsp coriander
1. In a bowl mix 1 onion, 2 smashed garlic, meat, egg, pepper and salt . Make little balls or ovals the size of a small walnut. Brown them slightly all over, then drain on paper towels.
2 On the same pan add the remaining 1 onion and fry a little bit, that add the tomato sauce, 150 ml water and place the meatballs into sauce, add the cinnamon and honey and fry 20 minutes on medium fire. Sprinkle the top with parsley and coriander, when they are served.
Serve with cauliflower rice.
