Lentils or dal soup

For most vegetarians lentils are the biggest protein source. 
Dal is the backbone of the Indian cuisine, where people cook it every day and prepare different meals from it. Even meat lovers will like this delicious soup what you can serve hot or warm with chilly or without. It will be a staple of your diet.
Never forget the Portion Control especial if you make diet or you suffer from diabetes.




Ingredients:

250 gr dal
1 medium onion finely chopped
2 tablespoon oil
half teaspoon salt
half lemon zest
2 teaspoon cumin seeds
half spoon curry powder
1 teaspoon turmeric (curcuma)
1/4 chilly
1/4 half teaspoon of ground ginger
1 tablespoon tomato sauce



1. Cook the dal in water with half teaspoon salt, this will take approximately 30 minutes. Use a stick blender to blend the dal.

2. Heat the oil and add the cumin seeds and garlic, fry for 1-2 minutes.

3. Add the onion and fry until become soft, then add the tomato sauce, curry and turmeric. Stir it to combine.

4. Add the dal, sprinkle with chilly and add 1,5 cup water. Cover with a lid and cook it for 10 minutes, pour the lemon zest before consuming it.
