Steak with mushroom salad

A tasty piece of calf or beef meat it can be a perfect lunch or dinner, with salad as side dish won`t make you to broke your diet. The steak can be prepare on grill or in your pan on the cooker.
One of my favorite marinade for steak is that from thyme, black pepper and olive oil, this steak goes well with a combination of salad with tender roasted mushrooms.

300 gr steak (2 big slice)
2 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon ground thyme
3 teaspoon olive oil
250 gr mushroom (1 can)
salad
1 cucumber
50 gr cashew or nuts
50 gr Feta cheese
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar.

1. You will have to marinate the steak before frying it, mix the thyme with pepper and 2 teaspoon oil, than pour on one side of the meat and let it aside for 1 hour on room temperature.

2. Add 1 teaspoon olive oil in a pan and heat over high heat, once the pan is hot, place the steak in the pan with the marinated side down, fry it for 3 minutes without pan cover, than place a lid on the pan and fry another 2 minutes. Fry the other side for 3 minutes with covered pan, than remove the lid and fry another 2 minutes. Place the steak on plates and start to make the salad.

3. Tenderly roast the mushrooms with garlic in a pan.

4. Wash the salad , I have used mixed salad and pop them in a bowl. Peel and cut the cucumber and pop them in the bowl with the mushrooms. Fry the cashew a few minutes and pop them in the bowl, cut the Feta cheese in cubes and place in bowl near the others, now you can drizzle with balsamic vinegar.
Serve the salad warm with the steak, do not forget to live a few minutes aside the steak before serving it.
